A study of the impact of self-efficacy and decision-making on hope among third-year high school students: an analytical approach to the learning pathحليلي للمسار

Objectif : This study aims to examine a proposed model that predicts the relationship between self-efficacy, decision-making, and goal orientation ("hope").
Method : The analytical approach was used to study the trajectory of the relationship between variables and their effects in the proposed model. The study employed the AMOS software and the SPSS statistical package due to their numerous advantages in model representation. The study sample consisted of 262 male and female students from the third year of secondary school. Four scales were used to measure self-efficacy, decision-making, achievement motivation, and goal achievement.
Result: The researcher predicted that both self-efficacy and decision-making would be indirectly linked to goal orientation, mediated by achievement motivation. In general, the relevant indicators supported the proposed model, indicating that higher levels of self-efficacy and decision-making among the study sample lead to higher levels of achievement motivation, thus increasing goal orientation and, consequently, higher levels of hope.
Conclusuion: The researcher recommends re-examining the model with a diverse sample of students from various disciplines, economic levels across the country, and ethnic groups. It also recommends examining the impact of mediating variables such as gender, specialization, and age on the indirect influence of self-efficacy and decision-making on goal orientation (hope).
