Abstract

This research paper seeks to study brevity by deletion, as a scientific phenomenon that depends on describing and analyzing phenomena, clarifying the foundations and principles on which they are based, and highlighting the connotations and meanings that the various terms convey to this phenomenon in the Qur’anic text.

We chose Surah Muhammad, where we divided the study into two parts: In the first part, we dealt with the concept of language and terminology of brevity according to the ancients and moderns. In the second part, we presented the most important types mentioned in the Surah, including the deletion of the subject, the predicate, the verb, the subject, and the object. We adopt the science of stylistics to investigate the details of the phenomenon linguistically.
