Abstract

The present study aimed at searching the correlation between self-esteem and aggressive behaviour among a sample of students redoing the baccalaureate year then finding out the differences between males and females at the level of self-esteem and aggressive behaviour. To achieve these purposes, we chose a sample of pupils redoing the baccalaureate year in Tlemcen, numbered (40) pupils: (20) males and (20) females, where we used two tools: The Self-Esteem Scale prepared by Lakhdar Shaiba and the Aggressive Behavior Scale by Mahi Ibrahim and Bashir Muamaria. After the statistical treatment of the data by the statistical programmes (SPSS23), we concluded the following: The presence of a statistically significant correlation between self-esteem and aggressive behaviour among a sample of pupils who redo the baccalaureate year, and there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of males and the mean scores of females based on the scale of self-esteem and the scale of aggressive behaviour in favour of males.
