About the Journal

Meshuar: A Journal of Narrative and Culture is a multidisciplinary double-blind peer-reviewed journal that studies different forms of narratives and their cultural significance. Named after the palace of the Sultans of Tlemcen, it also evokes collaborative and concerted work as well as process and trajectory. Its primary goal is to provide an academic platform for the analysis and discussion of narratives across various media and cultural contexts, exploring how stories are created, communicated, and interpreted in diverse cultural and technical settings, and thereby contributing to the development of narrative theory and cultural studies.

 

Scope

 Meshuar is committed to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research that enhances scholarly studies in narrative arts and cultures. We welcome submissions of academic articles and book reviews written in English from a diverse range of scholars, practitioners, and PhD students who provide new insights, methodologies, and theoretical perspectives. Through rigorous scholarship and a strong commitment to diversity and inclusivity, Meshuar aims to advance the understanding of narratives and their significant influence on the human experience.

 

Meshuar is calling for scholarly submissions that include, but are not limited to, the examination of narratives in literature, film, art, and digital media.

Metrics

Meshuar is released twice a year, in July and December. Additionally, there is a possibility of considering the publication of special issues, according to the specific guidelines for such publications.

Meshuar is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity. All submissions undergo a plagiarism check using iThenticate for plagiarism and AI detection. Authors must ensure that their work is original, properly cited, and not being considered elsewhere. Any instance of plagiarism will be dealt with in accordance with the journal’s policies.
