The difficulties encountered the psychologist in educational institutions

Objectif : This study aims to reveal the reality of educational and psychological counseling in educational institutions, identify the role of the school guidance counselor as a psychologist within these institutions, highlight the most prominent problems and difficulties they face, and propose solutions to address or mitigate them.
Method : The researcher used a descriptive approach, which contributes to describing the problems and taking the necessary steps through interpreting and analyzing the results. The research sample included 91 school and career guidance counselors in the Tlemcen province.
Result: The study highlighted the active role of the guidance counselor within educational institutions and revealed the most prominent difficulties they face in their field practice. The most significant difficulties encountered by counselors relate to working conditions (60%), followed by difficulties related to the legislative and legal framework (55%), then difficulties related to professional and academic preparation (45%), and finally, obstacles related to personal readiness (34%).
Conclusuion: The study recommends activating the role of the educational counselor in schools and facilitating their tasks to enable them to fulfill their roles effectively
