The role of school integration in developing some social skills for students with hearing impairments

Objective: the study aimed to introduce school inclusion for children with hearing impairment and highlight its importance in developing their social skills. It also sought to present the concept, objectives, requirements, and conditions for successful school inclusion, as well as inclusive teaching strategies and the role and competencies of teachers in ensuring successful inclusion.
Method: The study adopted a descriptive approach and was limited to presenting the theoretical concepts related to school inclusion and hearing impairment, along with selected previous studies on the topic. No field study was conducted, and no data collection instruments were employed.
Results: The study highlighted the importance of school inclusion in promoting the social and communication skills of children with hearing impairment. It also emphasized that successful inclusion depends on providing an appropriate educational environment, qualified teachers, suitable instructional strategies, and the necessary support services and educational resources.
Conclusion: The study concluded that school inclusion is an important approach for enhancing the educational and social integration of children with hearing impairment. Its successful implementation requires appropriate educational conditions, effective organizational support, and the provision of the necessary services and resources for all stakeholders involved in the inclusion process.
